Cultural Change needed to exploit ICT in schools

Technology has changed heaps over the years and will continue to do so , but by having technology innovated into the classroom these day is a must . Reading the article by Dr Alison Elliott on "Culture Changing Needed To Exploit ICT In Schools" i realised that u can use the technology in more than one way. I was one of the people that only had one computer in there class so through my early years of school we hardly used the computer . As i moved into high school we had things such as the computer lab which we were made to use throughout the week just like Alison was talking about in the article .By being forced to use these computers i found it to become useful in the future more than what i thought it would. However reading this article also gave me a few useful ideas in which i can innovate technology such as computers into my classroom. I thought having the computer pals was a great idea and a useful tool to have when learning about different cultures . I also think its great that student that go to uni wanting to become educators are given courses to help them become well equipt in this area as ICT is a usful tool and resource to have . From computers , t.v s , projectors to smart boards all these are great and usful tools that should be innovated into the classroom not only to expand your students knowledge but they also add to your own the more you use and experiment with them.

Digital Natives , Digital Immigrants

when i read the article "Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants" by Mark Prensky i agreed with everything he had to say. Ithink digital immigrants do struggle is some ways when it comes to technology today. I think that it is important that these teachers that do struggle with technology try to learn the new techniques and skills so they are able to understand and help their students in this particular area. Technology is also a good resource to have and to intergrate into the classroom.
